Intake Systems

Your car is like an organism it needs to have the maximum air input to perform at its best. One of the best and easiest way for car enthusiasts to enhance their engine performance is to invest in an aftermarket air intake system. Having your engine run on a stock intake is restrictive, you can imagine it as having a stuffy nose, without the maximum air your body will not perform at its best. By installing an aftermarket air intake system it allows for more air to be drawn in and used in the combustion cycles and air flow will run smoother allowing you to truly harness the power of your engine. You may notice a deep breathing sound from your engine, that is the sound of your engine enjoying the ability to breathe. Their are two different choices you can choose from in upgrading to an aftermarket air intake system. Both cold air intakes and short ram intakes will allow your engine to breathe more freely and increase engine performance. Cold air intakes draw in cooler air since the filter is not as close to the engine, which makes burning fuel more efficient inside the combustion chamber. However, cold air intakes are a little more difficult to install due to the placement of the pipe. Short ram intakes on the other hand allow your vehicle to draw in more air, however the air is at a higher temperature. Short ram intakes are very simple to install. They both have their positives and negatives, however either route you take will allow your engine to breathe freely and enjoy the freedom from the restriction caused by the stock intake. Your car is like an organism it needs free flowing oxygen to perform at its best. One of the best and easiest way for car enthusiasts to enhance their engine performance is to invest in an aftermarket air intake system. Stock factory intakes are usually restrictive due to the tight legislative emission control. You can imagine it as having a factory installed stuffy nose, without the maximum air your engine will not perform at its full potential. By installing an aftermarket air intake system it allows for more oxygen to be drawn into the cylinders, more oxygen equal more powerful combustion which equals more horsepower. Intake installation usually do not require stand alone ECU tuning because most factory ECU can detect the increased oxygen and recalculate fuel to air ratio. ECU tuning is usually only required after you have extensively modified the air flow system including full performance exhaust.
